Why Deepavali is a great time to advertise in Singapore

This year, November 6 marks Deepavali, the Hindu festival of lights, and is a public holiday in Singapore. It’s a huge event with lots of bright, glittery lights and flowers strung up around homes and the city streets and people wearing colourful clothes to symbolise light conquering darkness. Not only does the event attract Singapore’s huge Indian community, it also brings in many tourists from around the world all keen to experience the colourful, fun event.

The event, of course, revolves around the diverse city-state’s Little India neighbourhood and its attractions such as the stunning 1881-built Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, and the Sri Mariamman Temple, where a fire walking festival is held during Deepavali.

Lots of people also congregate at the festival’s 15,000 square metre bazaar, which has street food stalls, roadside markets, souvenir shops and restaurants set up outside just for this event, as well as the bustling 24-hour Mustafa Centre.

Then there’s Tekka Centre, one of the best wet markets in the country (many top chefs in Singapore come to shop for ingredients here), as well as the fascinating Indian Heritage Centre,

Right up until 25 November, all of Serangoon Road is decorated in festive lights, which is an amazing sight. All eyeballs will be looking up at these lights, which means they will also be looking right up at the area’s billboards.

TPM Outdoor have a number of outdoor advertising spaces in Little India area with high visibility to pedestrians and main roads. This includes a large panel on the Mustafa Centre glass façade. Our other billboard faces the Syed Alwi road, restaurants and shops, attracting a large percentage of traffic including locals and tourists.

Right beside Mustafa Centre, our location is placed with high visibility and easily captures the attention of travellers along Serangoon Road and Syed Alwi Rd where there’s a high pedestrian movement. We also have advertising spaces along Jalan Besar Road where there is strong cluster of SMEs and dealership offices with heavy traffic toward Bencoolen Street, Orchard road, Rochor road, and Bugis.
